Eager to learn the difficult skill of wood carpentry, I chose to dive right in by designing and building my own coatrack. Using what I’ve learned in construction classes, I designed this furniture piece to be sturdy, durable, and aesthetically pleasing to my own taste; it is largely influenced by the bamboo in the jungles of Guam. The coatrack’s distinct features are the three sticks which protrude outwards from its base, allowing users to hang whatever objects they see fit.
